About Sandi Newsome

Victoria's mom had fabric left over from her
wedding gown and wanted a christening dress
made from that fabric. This is the result.

Sewing from a Young Age
When I was a little girl my mom made all my dresses. In those days little girls always wore dresses. Mom also made special occasion clothes
for all my cousins and friends of the family. She used to give me all the scrap pieces of fabric so I could "make" clothes for my dolls.
When I got a little older, she taught me how to use the sewing machine and how to layout and cut patterns. By the age of fourteen,
I was making Halloween costumes and bride dolls to match the wedding gowns for friends of the family.

When my youngest daughter was getting married I did not want
the pressure of making her gown along with all the other
pressures involved in planning a wedding. After many weeks
of fruitless searching I gave in to her wishes and agreed to
make her gown to her specifications. She decided she wanted
the whole wedding party in gowns styled to match hers so I
ended up making 6 gowns
instead of one and dresses to
match for my 2 granddaughters as well

Some Years Later
I am now the mother of two girls and three boys, grandmother of seven. For more than twenty years,
I worked full time in a fast paced, highly technical, managerial job in corporate America. There wasn't time to make all my children's
clothes, as my mother did for me. But I always found time to indulge my passion and creativity by custom making all their special occasion
clothing. They loved them and soon expected all their special occasion clothing to be custom made. They in turn passed that expectation
along to their children.
I was lucky enough to retire early and can now enjoy being a young grandmother with enough time to indulge my creative passions. The
girls love knowing their dresses will be unique and special and we share special times as they sit with me to design them. Even the littlest
ones enjoy figuring out what kind of sleeve they want, what kind of neckline and skirt, and even helping to choose the fabric.

First Communion Dress for and designed by
Sara! This is my first granddaughter. Sara
didn't like frilly clothes. She had some
very strong feelings about what she did and
did not like in clothes. So she sat down and
drew me a picture of what she wanted her
dress to look like and I made it for her. She
wanted no ruffles or lace, no puffy sleeves
and she wanted the sleeves to come below
her elbow. She was so happy that day
because her dress was exactly what she
wanted.

Special Occasion
Clothing Experience
Over the years, the special occasion endeavors I have completed for family, friends and paying clients included wedding gowns, bridesmaid gowns, christening gowns/suits, communion dresses, prom dresses, and confirmation dresses. Most recently, along with still doing specialty garments, I make liturgical garments and alter cloths for priests and bishops complete with intricate embroidery that I design on my computer.
Following My Heart - Sewing for Babies and Children
But my heart is in sewing for babies and children. I love to design and create things for little people. Whether it is christening gowns,
special outfits to celebrate the baby's homecoming from the hospital or lace bonnets, that is where my imagination, many years of experience
and passion meets the fabric. I especially love creating heirloom pieces that can be passed down through future generations.
Serving You with High Quality and Uniqueness
For christening dresses, I embroider the baby's name (and other information like date of birth) on the undergarments and, as other children
in the family wear them and their information is added, you create a historical memory garment that is sure to be treasured by your
family. A special idea I've done many times is to create a christening gown for the first baby using the fabric from the mom's wedding
gown.

| Philosophy of Love |
| Every item is done with the love and care befitting our children and they are all tenderly made and unlike any other. Like our children,
every one is different, and should you choose to have me make one for your precious little one it will be as special and unique as
your child. |
